Parent won't let you on their insurance? Your job still isn't paying you enough to buy a 'decent' car? At your age and experience, the cost of insurance would be astronomical on a three-year old hatchback? Yeah - we know, we've been there! Lot's of younger drivers start off by buying an older car, especially with 6-12 months MOT, that they can use as their first car. The insurance should be cheaper as the value is less, and if you crunch the gears a few times - hey - it didn't cost much to buy and when the MOT runs out, well, just go buy another! When you have passed your test, have a few years driving experience, your out of minimum wage, and your age puts you into the next insurance bracket, then you can go and buy that shiny 3 year old hatchback. |
