At Arena Essex Raceway, the following formula race on a regular basis. Below
is a brief description of each formula, but we can't describe the emotions,
noises and smells that accompany every race. So come along next weekend and
enjoy the spectacle of short circuit racing.

Bangers
These cars are probably the cheapest form of motorsport available and are
prepared with the minimum amount of welding permitted and fitted with a roll
bar for driver safety |

SuperBangers
A limited contact class of Banger racing with emphasis on racing rather than
wrecking. Extra welding for strength, locked differentials and modified
suspension set them apart from national bangers. |

Outlaw Hot Rods
A very fast Hot-Rod class run on 10" slick tyres built to National Hot-Rod
construction rules. |

Group
A Hot-Rods
A very competitive non-contact class using small family saloon cars and
fitted with a full roll cage. Engines are tuned 1330cc or basic 1600cc
crossflow. A control tyre is also used. |

Lightning Rods
A non-contact class featuring cars of around 2000cc and rear wheel drive.
The main car being used at the moment is the Ford Sierra. A full roll cage
must be fitted and all cars run on a controlled tyre. |

Stock
Cars
Fully ironed out full contact saloon cars of various makes, an integral roll
cage and cheap tyres make this formula exciting to watch or race. |

Ministox
An excellent formula for youngsters aged 10 to 16 years old to discover the
thrill of racing for themselves. Strict safety rules are laid down by the
Oval Racing Council. Arena-Essex run this class non-contact. |

BRISCA F2 Stock Cars
A truly national class of open wheeled contact stock car racing. |

Grand Prix Midgets
Purpose built single seater racers. |
