ARENA-ESSEX RACEWAY NEWSLETTER Issue 395 Promotasport Raceway International December 2007 Telephone 01708 867728 Fax 01708 890369 Email tony@arena.wanadoo.co.uk
We apologise for the lateness of this newsletter but here it is at last. With this newsletter you will find the final points charts and the new grades for the 2008 season, which happens to be our 30th year of racing at Arena having opened on 1st May 1978, lets hope it is not our last but it could be. As promised we will let you know of any further developments as soon as we know of any. You will also find your new licence application form which you will notice that the licence fee has increased by £5, this was increased by the ORC for 2007 but we had already printed our forms so we kept it at the 2006 price but have had to put it up this year to comply with the rest of the ORC promoters.
The Dinner & Dance went well again this year and all the trophies were given out to the appropriate winners including Boxer Jack who was on crutches after his nasty dooring at the ORC Team Championships at Ipswich in which the PRI Team still managed to finish second despite most teams trying to stop us winning for a third consecutive year and not all their tactics were legal, but that is another story.
The annual Oval Racing Expo is on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th January. The Outlaw Hot-Rods are invited to race on the Saturday night while the Group A Hot-Rods, SuperBangers, Lightning Rods, 1300 Stock Cars & Ministox are invited to race on the Sunday. REMEMBER YOU MUST HAVE A 2008 LICENCE TO RACE at the Expo
The gates will be open at 3.30 on Saturday and 8am on the Sunday and racing starts at 5.30 and 10.30. There is no limit to the amount of PRI drivers who want to race.
Hopefully we will also enclose a PROVISIONAL fixture list with this newsletter and we must stress this is provisional and could be subject to change.
The annual National Street Rod Associations massive Auto Jumble is on Sunday 2nd March with our opening meeting of the season the Unlimited Bangers SHAKEDOWN is on Sunday 9th March at 2pm. There will be NO increase on the gate admission price
We will be closed for 2 weeks over the Xmas period but midweek practise will still be available up till then, and obviously after. Saturday practise will resume on 2nd Feb 08
SEE YOU ALL IN 2008 AND HAVE A GOOD XMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR
