SUPERBANGERS AT RTS The Superbangers make their debut at the Rolling Thunder Show on Saturday 30th June at 6pm. Gates open at 4pm. Points will count.
BANGERS AT WARNETON The Camso Unlimited Banger World Cup is to be held on 7th & 8th July at Warneton. The minimum size car is Granada/Volvo with engine swaps allowed. Overnight camping is available. Email Gert at bangers@boorman.cc
LIGHTNING RODS ON SHALE The Coventry date for 29th June has now been rescheduled for Friday 8th June at 7pm. Other meetings available are Buxton 9th June & Belle Vue 27th August.
THE MONTHS RACING NEWS The Arena Team went to Mildenhall on the 5th May and got revenge on RDC by superbly winning the 2nd leg of the Head to Head, well done to all the team including everyone who helped and to the supporters who were superb. The Bangers kicked off the month at Arena with the Bob Kitchener Memorial and many thanks to the Kitchener family for their involvement supplying some very nice trophies for the finalists and race winners including returnee 401 Mark Newman who won the Final. Other final winners in the month were 227 Dale Hughes for the Condoms in the Team meeting with Boxer adding 2 more final to his already impressive haul including the Shootout title in atrocious wet weather. The wet weather continued over both days of the Bank Holiday weekend, 395 Stephen Hale won the National Banger Final on Sunday with 549 Phil Smith winning the Big Vans.
100 Dick Burtenshaw won the Final at the RTS show and the Final on Bank Holiday Sunday. 156 Darren Goudy became the new Essex Champion in the 2L Saloon Stock Cars in their second appearance of the season. 641 George Heath won his first 1300 Stock Car Final after 635 Deborah Whiteman drove superbly to win both the heats, she continued her good run with a heat & final double at the Rolling Thunder Show.
18 Chris Smith bagged both Group A Finals in the month. 152 Mick Sworder won the F2 Final with a very poor showing of cars, just 16 making on track including three Europeans. 516 Jack Wheelwright won the Minstox Final on his last meeting before retiring at 16 and moving up to the 1300 Stock Cars. 562 Liam Friel was awarded the Ministox Final on Bank Holiday Sunday after post race Scrutineering. 425 Stephen Ashdown won the Superbanger Final on his debut with 49 Billy King winning his first Superbanger Final on BH Sunday. 111 Vic Bilkey won the Lightning Rod Final to move him up to the top of the pile of the Lightning Rods all time Final
